NCSA Certification Test Guidelines:
The NCSA has standardized the testing system so anyone can take the test and meet the requirements listed on the "requirements to become certifiedr"
This test is a 200 question test. It includes True and False, Matching and Multiple Choice. Because of the standards the NCSA has set for only the most qualified people to become certified you are required to answer 160 of the questions accurately. We understand this is a very high percentage. We feel that if you miss more than 40 questions you need more education.
You will have 90 minutes to take the test. The test will be emailed to you at an a previously setup time. You must return the test within the 90 minute time period to get credit for it.
Anyone who has taken an approved course and gone over the manual, will have no problem answering the questions.
There are no trick questions in this test. If you would like an idea of the areas covered on this test please go to one of the approved course web sites and look at what the classes cover.
For NCS candidates that take the NCSA 101 course, you will be charged $25.00 for the test. This fee can then be applied to your first years membership dues when you pass. You may take the test the second (2nd) time without an additional charge. If you fail the second time you must take an essay test and be interviewed by a NCSA board member, with a fee of $75.00
If you are testing out (without taking the approved NCSA course) the charge is $25.If you fail it one (1) time you will be required to take an approved course. After you take the course you will be required to retake the test. You will then follow the above procedure if you should fail again.
If you have a disabilty or are not able to read or understand English well, please contract the NCSA for additional options for taking the test. We offer extending time or an oral exam. Pleaae contact the membership committee for more information
